Hey all, I've been looking pretty closely into trying out infrared photography. I looked a little bit into getting a digital camera converted for IR, but thought that I'd look for a better (meaning cheaper) alternative to start off. I have the Nikon FM10 (w/ kit lens), and I'm looking to try one of them fancy IR B&W film rolls- so I have a few questions:
- What film do I buy? (Would this work?: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1139495-REG )
- Do I need any lens filters (deep red, visible light blocking, etc.)?
- Once the exposure is taken, who do I have develop it?
Thanks,
Elias
Hello Elias. I have used Rollei 400 IR, and yes, it works, but you will need an infrared filter, such as an R72, for IR photography. As far as developing, do you do your own or send it out?
Thanks for the info - I'd be sending it out to get get developed. Do you have any experience with thedarkroom.com?
TheDarkroom provides excellent service and they're good people. No complaints.
