Hello, I have an upcoming opportunity to give a quote for a US company that has a conference in the Toronto area this year. My corporate events have all been Canadian based in the past, and I want to ensure that the day rate I am giving this company is not under or over standard event photography rates at the pro level. This is a 12 hour day on set (both candid and some posed shots), minimal set up, and a 48 hour turnaround time. Any input is welcome as to what in 2017/18 are standard event photography rates in the US for a larger conference with a good budget. Thank you -Anita
Hi Anita! "Going rates" is difficult because no organization or entity I am aware of publishes such a thing + every studio approaches rate structures in a different way and has a different cost of doing business! For what you are describing, we would be in the $2300-2700 USD range, but I know there are others that would say our rates are higher than typical - and still others who say I am quoting low!! Ask for the amount of money you feel comfortable asking for (a value proposition you are confident you can support) and let the cards fall! Good luck!
