Bumblebee in flight

Not as sharp as I would like it (actually not quite sharp anyway), but it's a massive crop from a photograph taken with my 15mm lens in Zaventem, Brussels. I'm so glad I could capture it in flight :-)

You're getting there! looks like the focus is on or at least very close. I think a higher shutter speed would have helped. Some of the blurriness look like motion blur to me. especially on the flowers. Could be camera shake or the wind, either way a faster shutter would help. Keep it up!

forgot to mention it's a manual focus lens ;-) , shutter speed was 1/125 @ f/5.6. But then again, these critters are darn fast ...

Edit: but I need to let go of ISO-100 !

Yes you need a faster shutter speed. They are really fast. It's not easy to capture them in flight and somehow the picture has some painterly mood.

the 'painterly mood', is that a good or a bad thing (in your opinion) ?
I kinda like it myself. Reminds me somewhat of 'the flight of the bumblebee' - Rimsky-Korsakov.

Sorry, I mean, I like it. ;) I like the composition, you know what it is and it looks (at least for me) someone has painted it.

Yes the music is what I mean. For me it's more like this version https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xXZKS5bHtP4 XD

Lol, didn't see that one coming :-D ... nice version !

I'm full of surprises and I like metal... lol

Its out of focus but I think its cool. Really nice composition.

Thanks !
I will definitely have another go at it when I get the chance !
