Lunch Time

I'm not sure what species it is exactly. I think it's some kind of Cheiracanthium. The spider was very busy.

Feedback welcome!

PS: If someone has a tipp for me for diffuser, I would much appreciate it! ;) I'm actually using a small octabox (around 3-4 in / 10-12cm). But it's always in the way...

Great pics !
Seems like a case of cannibalism. I would think the prey is a male specimen of the same species ...
It's a pity though you didn't get a clear shot of her eyes, I bet it was pretty hard to get her in focus like that.

Thank you Ian. I never thought that it could be a male spider. But you could be right.

In fact it was not easy. she was in a bunch of Erigeron annuus (annual fleabane) and i popped my diffuser against it all the time. Which made her more active.

Nice shots! I wish I had answer for you on the diffuser. I have a similar set up and am always bumping it into things.

Thank you Troy. It's somehow annoying. If you have no wind, then the diffuser is on the way... ;)
