I'm not quite sure about the exact species, I would think something like Gonepteryx rhamni or Pieridae.
I took this one with my 50mm f/1.4 with a full set of extension tubes.
You did a good job, even if you missed the focus on the eye slightly. I really like the details of the hairs and the rolled up proboscis (is that the correct term?). Also that earthy color tone looks great.
Thanks !
My tubes are 12, 20 and 36mm for a total of 68mm.
I tried to sharpen the eye a bit in post ...
this was the best one of a total of 18 shots. I have tried to focus stack them, but since they were handheld and I am not a magician, I have ceased that attempt.
Beautifully done, I really like this one! Eye looks sharp enough to me. I always have to sharpen them a bit on butterflies. I think they are a little hairy or fuzzy. I do wish the antenna wasn't cut off though. Not a huge deal though, just something I always find myself doing and wishing I shot a little wider.

How long are your tubes?
Thanks !

Have you had your 50 reverse mounted? It's a nice magnification you got.
No, only the tubes !

I think I found the reason why we can't get the eyes sharp:

Oh they are kinda fuzzy... That explains a lot.
