Lurking butterfly

This was taken yesterday in the Planckendael zoo in Mechelen, Belgium. I noticed this butterfly flapping around and was hoping for it to sit down on a flower. So it did ...
I took the photograph in landscape, but cropped it to portrait. I like it more that way, what do you think ?

Shutter 1/100, Aperture 5.6, ISO 100, 200mm (100mm macro + 2.0x teleconverter)

These little Cabbage Butterflies are so hard to get a shot of. They just seem to be some of the flightiest Butterflies I've chased around the yard. The shot looks a bit under exposed too me. I think you could get away with bumping the ISO up a bit. I'd probably raise the shutter speed too. For this angle I would prefer to get a wings open shot, Wings closed usually look better from the front, if you can get around to the front. But I know how skittish these guys are. Congrats on even getting one in the lens long enough to pop off some shots!

Thanks !

I didn't really had the chance to choose an angle, there were bushes all around it.
However concerning the exposure, I had some room left to adjust.

Try to add a light vignette. It will lead the eye into it and darkens the corners.

That looks better!

Butterflies are really hard to get a picture of. Always on the move, always moving the antennae. If you are not careful enough, they flee. Nice one.

Thanks !
