I may have to get some stacking software for this shot, but for now I just processed the two different points of view. Which shot do you prefer? Any CC is always welcome.
Great capture! I'm looking for jumping spiders and don't find them.... :/
I stacked the images for you in Affinity. I hope it's not a problem. Works well, because you have overlapped the dof. Better than I did with my isopod. ;)
Thanks! Good to see it worked so well even with down sized jpegs that were processed separately. I bet withe the original raw files plus another frame or two it would really work well. Affinity is looking more and more tempting!
It worked that well, because your frames are really good. There is not much movement in them. I struggled with the Isopod picture (maybe you have seen it) to do that. Instead of 6 frames I could only use 3 of them. There was a gap of unsharpness in the final stack. I wasn't careful enough. :)
Affinity is not bad in stacking, but it has it's limitations. Like PS. For big stacks, I would use Zerene or Helicon.
I think small stacks is all I need. I don't really see myself setting up rails for a huge stack on a dead subject. just want to be able to stack a few handheld shots on live subjects when I happen to get a few close enough. If I can get this DOF with 2 images at full 1-1 magnification and f11. I really don't see needing to stack more than 5 or 6 frames 10 max, most likely 2-4.
The reason I was able to get multiple frames so close was. 1 the little jumper seemed pretty proud of his trophy and was more than willing to show it off to me. I even went back in the house to get my extension tubes to get closer. They didn't turn out so well though. (May make another post about that sometime,) And 2 he was on the side of my house . I was able to sit on the ground, hold the camera with both hands and lean one of those hands on the wall. Combine that with an image stabilized sensor, and I might as well have had a tripod.
I may have missed the isopod I'll check it out.
First thought is the two perspectives tell two stories
Thanks! Story is a better way of putting it than point of view or perspective.
