Fairly new to macro but took this the other day while on holiday in Colombia. What do you think? All suggestions and comments gratefully received!

Foggy start to a Sunday morning
Down on the waterfront this morning, tide was out, Heron were sitting along the water fishing. There was a boat coming across the water from Bremerton heading into Port Orchard.

Cool shot, love the symmetry! I assume this was natural light. I think a flash, flashlight or small reflector would have helped brighten the subject and darkened the background also brought out the details a little more. You could probably bring it up a bit more in post.If it was shot with a flash I would increase the flash power and decrease the the exposure.
HeyTroy, thanks so much for the comment. Yes, it was taken with natural light, no flash. That's something I'm now thinking about buying, especially for macro. Thanks again for the comment!
I played around with macro all of last summer without a flash. Got some great shots, sometimes I think natural light even looks better, but now that I have a flash I feel lost with out it. for most shots the flash will bring you up a level or two.
