Morning visit

Found this little thing on the leaf of my wife's flowers, and it quickly became a fun challenge to capture this image as it moved around the leaf. Personally, I like the contrasting line between the edge of the leaf and the flower in the background. It felt like a good composition, but would greatly appreciate your thoughts and CC.

Shot handheld with a Nikon D810, 300mm, 1/250 sec at f/10.

These flies can be a challenge both because of their small size and rapid movement. This is a good attempt. The focus is a bit soft but it is hard to get sharp shots of these guys. By the way the common name of these flies is long legged flies. These flies are in the taxonomic family Dolichopodidae. They are harmless and as far is I know both the larvae and adults are predators on other insects.

When I’m doing flies I set my flash to 1/64 or 128 so I can knock off five or six shots in row and catch him in flight every time the flash goes off the flight land again
