First Macro Images

I recently bought the AF-S NIKKOR Micro 105mm 2.8 G IF-ED VR to get more into macro photography. After some practice (yet I'm still a beginner), these are the first shots, that I'm really proud of. Any helpful tips on improvement (in general and these shots)?

You sure have a good reason to be proud of 'em!
One interesting tip that I can give you is that you don't always need to use the minimum focus distance. Sometimes it is pleasant to experiment with focus distances a little further away.

Thanks, Hunter!
Currently I am pretty focused on the minimal focus distance. I need to get an eye for longer shots. Next ToDo on my list.

Congrats on the new lens! You're off to a great start. I think the flower is the strongest image in the set. Here's a tip. When shooting bugs try to get a lower angle it makes the viewer feel more like they are on equal scale looking at the bug from closer to their perspective rather than the view of a larger human looking down at them. Also if the eye is in the shot it should almost always be in the sharpest thing in focus.

Thank you, Troy!
Thanks for the tip with the angle, didn't have that in mind, when I took this photo. The focus is something I need to work on. For still or slow moving objects, this is not a problem for me, but this bee was pretty fast moving. But I'll work on that.

For focusing on a moving subject set your focus fro how you want it farmed or a little wider. Then find focus moving the camera back and forth to find without refocusing the lens. Take many more shots than you think you need and throw most away or use then for a focus stack if you can get enough of them.

Thats a good tip, thanks! I'll try that ;)
