Creek in Banff

I had forgotten my tripod during this hike and had to set my composition based on where I could rest my camera on nearby rocks and my camera bag. I am new to this group, do you have any helpful hints or tips to improve my long exposure photography? Thank you.

My personal preference is the expose is way too long and the crop is way too tight. The water is cut off on the right and left so the surrounding rocks are not visible. The water is basically a white void. There is no detail in the flow of water. Not sure what your exposure was in this shot but with the rapid drop the water would be flowing pretty fast. I would think a 2 second exposure would capture the flow nicely. Hope that makes some sense without being too harsh.

Thank you for your input. This was a 10 second exposure, and looking back at some of my other shots I think you are right, a shorter exposure would have served this creek much better. I also agree about the crop, its a reason to go back to this location. Thank you!

It's a beautiful spot for sure!!
