Loading Grain in Seattle

I shot this Seattle a few years ago I wondered on this scene while spending the day bicycling around looking for subjects. This was shot on the bicycle trail near Pier 91 after shooting a few wide shots with normal lenses which worked well looking for something that was outside the box. Unpacked the Nikon 300 2.8 mounted it up and took the chance there is no Vibration reduction on the lens so any movement would have ruined the shot. Being tired from a whole day of wondering around Seattle the aperture was set at 22 which was a long shot focus wise the exposure was 30 sec figure why not start there. which that much weight on a tripod was a long shot. For some reason they had quit loading the vessel after for the first shot after repositioning the camera for a another shot the loading started again causing vibrations which after that there was no chance of having the ship to be stable enough for a sharp image
There is not a whole lot adjustments to the image other than color adjustments for the differnt types of lighting and was shot with a Nikon D3x which never ceases to amaze me
