It could be a little punchier and you could bring out the eyes more but that's just personal preference. The retouching itself is good. Subtle and natural.
Use a high pass layer set to 18px to sharpen the eyes. Reduce the opacity to your liking. Then use a curves layer set to screen and make a slight s curve, but only a really slight one so that you get brighter mid-tones and highlights and then brighten up the eyes (brush over the whole eye including the eyelids). Additionally, you can enhance the catchlights in the eyes as well. Use a blank layer set to overlay and paint with white over the catchlights. I also used one curves layer to slightly boost the overall contrast in the image.

Really good suggestion and great technique. I normally use a dodge and burn level dedicated to the eyes. I'll try your way for sure!
