Yet another 'how do I properly sharpen my images for web exporting' question

I ask b/c I've followed best practices for Capture One, Lightroom, and also used Exposure X2.

In all cases, most JPG viewing software display my exported images far far far softer than they actually are viewed as RAW files in whatever photo editor I'm using. It's a total pain in the ass to have my final edits look soft.

The most recent advice I followed was for Capture One 10. I have the Pro version for and use it and Exposure X2 for edits (hardly any Lr or Ps if I can help it). The advice here:
http://blog.phaseone.com/control-your-output-in-capture-one-pro-10/

I find most image viewing software on my computer makes the images look terribly soft. When I upload the image to Flickr, it's also terribly soft.

Interestingly, Faststone (http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm) renders the JPGs with the proper softness, but does a horrible job of color rendering, way oversaturating. I am saving the images using sRGB, not Adobe RGB, Windows 10 Photo Viewer also oversaturates the colors.

It would certainly be nice to have my final exports look sharp like the finished RAW file.

Any advice on achieving this? Many thanks.

There are many ways to sharpen the web export images! depending on where you want to use exactly ( Email promo, Website, Social Media, Facebook, Instagram or... ). But there is one quick way I usually do for my personal works. Try to use Capture one proofing ( Like the blog you posted about) but set the quality to full. and Set the Adjustments to Sharpening for the screen ( like in the blog ). and export it. Now you will have the full quality image with sharpening for the screen but the image size will be high. The last step is download Jpegmini Pro ( There is demo version too for try ) It will magically reduce image size up to 600-800% without decreasing the quality. images will load fast and smoothly on the web.

Be aware there are many other ways like in photoshop. For example : Sharpen with high pass - add monochrome noise - Long edge : 2048px - quality 95% - save for web.
