In my opinion, the hairline on her forehead in the post production doesn't look quite right. other than that the retouching looks natural and clean.
You are right. Fixing the hair has been the hardest part.
Nice job overall. The original had a bad color cast that you changed. The retouched shot looks smooth but not overdone.
Hey, Mark. Thanks for your comment, my friend. Now that I see this post, I can see a lot of mistakes that I now know how to correct. This is the amazing way that learning works. Have a great day.
I like that you did not lose her freckles. It’s a very natural look. She still has a lot of little bumps on her forehead and left of her nose. Whether to remove that or not is a matter of taste. Not a right or wrong.
One thing that I’ve been very excited to learn about recently is Frequency Separation. You separate the color from the texture. Then edit them separately. If you’re adventurous I’d look for it on YouTube. I think Phlearn has a good one on it.
Dear Pamela, thank you for your feedback. Frequency separation is one of the techniques I am using. There are a few variations of the FS technique, using the mixer brush, that you should definitely try. I discovered this site a few days ago: http://www.fx-ray.com/tutorials/skinretouching/ They have one of the most advanced and technical tutorials out there. Greetings!
