I was wondering if I were the only one here how uses GIMP software? In all the articles, videos, discussions in groups, I have never seen it mentioned.

GIMP has been mentioned once in a while. I'm just speculating, but, I think most folks (on here at least) use Affinity Photo as an alternate to Photoshop. Me included. AF is more similar to PS than GIMP is to PS.
Never heard of it, where do you find it and how much does it cost? I don't even recall seeing that listed. Most everything mentioned is like PS or LR. I use a combo of LR and GIMP.
It's about about $57 USD. No subscriptions.

Every once in a while they have good promotions, might be worth waiting for.
I am learning how to use GIMP. It helped to let go of the notion everything must look and behave like Photoshop. It's a different program and forcing expectations upon it hindered my learning curve.
Mostly presented in comparisons or as an alternative taken as a concession there are few GIMP tutorials and workflow examples for different photography genres. The upside is what I do come across is thorough. From all the "hidden features" and "things you didn't know about" articles that come out weekly PS/LR users apparently understand zilch about the programs.
I am using Gimp and Lightroom. I also just got a Wacom Intuos Pro med. to replace the mouse. I have not done any new shooting so have not had the real chance to use the tablet to post process photos yet. Can't wait though.
This software is used, but much less frequently than alternative programs. Today, there is quite a large variety of them. Therefore, users choose the software that is most convenient for them.
