Fake Sunset

Hey guys I'm a full time MD and really want to learn more about portrait photography, I recently started to learn photography since 4 months ago, and can't find the right community to learn it, until I found this website.

Well I will cut it short, so last month, I had a session with my friends, but couldn't get the golden hour in time, so I decided to edit the sunset in post, what do you guys think? Is it unnatural? How can I get the best time/golden hour? Thanks :)

Nice attempt Naufal, I would have broadened the gradient across more of the image and then created a mask to brush her back in a bit. It feels a bit abrupt. I tend to gel my strobes to create golden hour on those dreary days. Keep it up, you are headed in the right direction.

I also use gels on my strobe to project the image of the sun. Gels are inexpensive and can add so much to photographs. I purchase 12"x12" sheets and cut to fit.

This is a good first attempt. I agree with @ Doug with the photoshop. Keep experimenting and see what you like.
