noob to portrait photography would like some feed back

I'm a noob to portrait photography and would like some feed back on my work
they were shot with a Pentax k-x
the first 3 are taken inside with a of camera flash and a Tamron 90mm prime f2.8 lens.
The 4th was lit with three little led bars and a 18-55mm kit lens
And the las two are natural Light

Hey noob! They're great! All capture wonderful, characterful facial expressions, which is the most important. Poses are good, backgrounds carefully chosen.

The fourth has some technical "issues"; it seems underlit, and leaves camera left side of her face in shadow. You could fix in post to a degree. The light is a bit cold in character, but again fiddle with WB. Also, it looks as if you were a little too close, with a slightly too-wide zoom, so her near cheek looks magnified. EXIF suggests you used 40mm, slightly longer than "standard". The Tamron is over twice as long, giving less distortion. Portrait lenses usually longer than standard.

The rest are all well-lit, with more diffuse light. You use the off-camera flash well.

Again, though, the portraits themselves, with those warm, cheeky and otherwise interesting and natural-looking expressions, are really impressive. I'd imagine the subjects love them. I would in their place! Well done, Mr Noob.

Ha Ha Ha thanks Chris.😂

Hi Jeremy! The first three are the best. Those eyes on the third frame, stellar. Would love some color to be punched out just a little on the iris for all. You do beautiful work as a whole. Great stuff man!

Thanks Jarrett
