I'm a poor editor and mediocre photographer. I've generally and wisely not done my own editing. But giving it a shot. Any comments/criticisms of the editing or photography appreciated.
Great work and thanks for the post! The main thing I would recommend is fixing the crop. The strips at the top and bottom have the worst artifacting and could be easily removed with the crop to make a stronger composition anyways.
Looks like you can't get her directly on a third from a "rule of thirds" standpoint so I'd either crop her dead center or try and shoot her with more breathing room on the right hand side.
Thanks. I'm not seeing any artifacts. I wonder if along the bottom you're seeing slight glimmer from the candelabra? If so then maybe I should either shade it out or make it prominent enough to see what it is more clearly? I can't find anything near the top?
I sometimes intentionally ignore thirds. Perhaps unwisely. I will often leave a bit more space on the side that they are facing and in this case I was also hesitant to cut off the light on the background. I'll try it with corrections to both of those.
It could have been a hosting or net issue when it was first put up, because I'm not getting it so bad now either, but the areas in the background where the gradient fell off were heavily posterized yesterday.
This shot's amazing. The skintones and overall bump to contrast (I personally love punchy images). She's centered but you've got the candelabra on the third. My eye goes straight across the flames and catches her elbow straight up to her face and she's got a great expression.
They're both style choices, but I think this is great.

NICE
Thank you.
SURE
Another option with a different shot. I didn't squash the colors as much, overall a bit brighter and more obedient to thirds.

Just noticed that she's got some odd wrinkles on the right (her left) side of her mouth that need to be softened or removed I think.
