Hank Rintjema's picture

TerraWear

TerraWear is a series of portraits I started using common weeds, sticks and feathers. I gathered the items needed from a near by bush and construcrted a headpiece. I found some fishnet and old rags in the garage which I used for clothing. My goal is to create dramatic, intense & intriguing images.

As always Hank your creative vision and strong sense of light are wonderful.
Note to Model. Next time we will check for any poison oak BEFORE the shoot. -Sorry 'bout that. :-D

...hahaha... laughing out loud here, Julian :) ...tHANKs for your comment and perpetual humour (I'm still chuckling)

Very cool concept. IMO it would look awesome centred.

It DOES look good centred... tHANKs Sophie! It's the first headpiece I ever made. I guess I wanted to show off those feathers :)

The headpiece is cool 😍

I agree with Sophie, Hank, despite generally not liking symmetry in images. Centring it makes it (her!) more powerful. But it IS a cool outfit and great image!

...tHANKs for your comment Chris. Yeah, I agree it looks good centered. I could go either way.

I much prefer the non-centered version. One of the main elements of this image is the headpiece. It adds more interest and drama. And, why wouldn't you want to show off your creative and hard work.

Thank you for your comment Black Z Eddie. I kinda like the way I cropped it BUT I had a much BIGGER problem during the photo-shoot. Every time I asked the model for an intense expression, she would laugh. It was a fun problem to have that in the end worked out well.

I'd never have guessed! ;-)

I know, eh Chris?! I think it's pretty cool when a model that is full of laughter & joy can pull off an intense look.

I'm a bit less scared of her now. Wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her, all the same. Especially if she was wearing the shaman's outfit! ;-)
