Golden Silence

Another portrait of my wife, this time with some more preparations. She made the make-up herself. Shot from above with a 24-70mm f2.8 at 70mm, ISO was set to around 640 and a softbox with SB-700 inside.

I really like the styling and theme of the photo. Obviously the shot is very well made on a technical level.

A few things I suggest: I'd try a higher f-stop. The hair loses Detail very quickly so it kind of looks like the background is sharper than her hair, which looks strange because it's further or on the same focal plane. This may be only my view though.
One thing I'm a little more sure about is the viewing angle. When shooting someone laying down, the camera often shoots more from below than we'd find acceptable from a standing position (I had the problem myself a few times. It really feels strange to be standing exactly over someone with the camera). So I'd try to get the camera a little bit "higher" more towards her eyeline.

Thank you for the feedback.

Good thoughts on the angle. I do love the spread of her hair. I'm wondering if the hair is getting washed out as it spreads out, or if her hair is dyed and it changes color? Of course, this could be part of your intent, too.

Thank you for the feedback. The hair is dyed and it changes color.

Hi Chris, a very good work.
adding one more thought to the discussion. Would you consider a square composition having all hair in circular format. thus eye level line automatically getting a little lower? if you have other images, would mind sharing? thanks.

Thank you for the feedback. I didn't tought about a square composition, I will look into it.
