Taken at the base of the Washington monument on a National Geographic Your Shot photo walk. Amelia had come along to act as a model for the group. I had only a few minutes with her so I moved her into the open shadows and took a few shots of her. It was a breezy day and I liked the way her hair was blowing and framing her face. I converted this image to B&W and processed it try to convey the freshness, confidence and unspoiled promise of her and of youth itself.
Nice shot. Had to come back and look at it again as the first time i saw your image it looked soft. Now that I have logged out and back in it appears sharp. Not sure why. Nice pose and effect with the wind blown hair.
