Tina in the Studio

Tina is a very close friend of mine. She and her friend Nikki were looking for images for an upcoming IFBB competition. I shot this about 7 years ago and would love to hear your feedback from my early early days in this profession.

What did I do well?
What did I miss?

This is Tina's first ever fitness photo shoot and one of my earliest shoots. She was a professional golfer and now is a marketing director.

This was shot on white seamless using Paul C. Buff Alienbees with a Canon 1D-X and 50mm f1.2L at 1/200 f/11 ISO 100.

Thank you so much for your time!

Not a fan of how the lighting is affecting her face. Almost has a monster lighting effect. It's not very flattering, especially for female subjects. The highlights on her forehead are awkward. They look like horns or antennae. The deep shadows underneath her bags and smile lines ages her. You could dodge most of these to smooth out the transitions.

Her expression has a growl/snarl feel to it, which doesn't fit the scene, especially with how the lighting is on her face.

Her hand on the right looks rough and dry. It could use some softening.

Thank you so much. I have been debating so much on the lighting on her face. Helped me break a tie (in my head). I also did not see those horns until just now. so crazy I missed those highlights.

Thank you for taking the time to critique. Really appreciate it.
