My work is inspired by Renaissance old master paintings so often my lighting and editing style will reflect that look.
Nikon D750, 105mm, f/4.5, 1/200, ISO100. Two lights: one 60" octa camera left, and 7' diffused umbrella behind camera for fill. Edited in RAW, Ps and my textures added in post.

Great job, Barbara! Your images certainly evoke that Renaissance portrait atmosphere. You somehow transcend a certain sterility and flatness that photography can have compared with painting and drawing, and introduce a depth and softness that makes the person paradoxically more real, and yet more ethereal.
I'm very impressed, and I find it inspiring - not that I have any desire to duplicate the portrait style, as I'm no portraitist. You just remind me of photographic possibilities I haven't (yet!) tapped.
So thanks for posting, and keep pursuing your vision!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I love your description of my work! Thank you, it means a lot!
Just really terrific, mesmerizing image!
Thanks so much!
