The Lost Autumn

I am constantly looking through Instagram and finding new people to work with. Sure, a lot of women aren't interested or skeptical because...well they honestly should be...you never know. But scanning through some images another photographer had taken, there was this one girl who just jumped out at me. She just had this look...kind of a sadness. So I got in touch and it turns out she's a mother of two and lives pretty close to me. So we did a first photo shoot, nothing special. I wasn't even super happy with the shots. But she quickly became one of my favorite people to invite over...and unlike most other people I shoot, really had zero ego. She was always very natural in front of the camera.

This shot was at the very end of a quick shoot. I turned the table she was sitting on to the side and used it as a background element. I had been wanting to use the old rug I found in a local market. I added the reflection in post to give a sense of depth and the idea that she was looking off into the sky beyond the trees. In a way, wishing for a different life or thinking about the past.

This is a fantastic image! The background gives me an outdoor vibe. The editing is on point too. I'm still trying to figure out color grading. But, yeah, I have a friend that I love shooting. She too is a mother of two, beautiful and just doesn't take herself that seriously. But, what a look! I found a chair for sale on FB Market Place for $30 and used it in an outdoor shoot with her. I'll post it at some point. But, this work is beautiful.

I really love this. You can feel the vibe in it, and the model is doing a great job with natural posing, which I don't see very much of. Great capture and color grading!

beautiful shot and fantastic edit, love this.

I agree with Robert. Fantastic image.

I can't quite describe why but it immediately reminded me of the "Migrant Mother" image by Dorothea Lange.
