Portrait processing

This is a frame from my first shoot of 2016.

A before and after Comparison. The top is the RAW after minor corrections (at the point I'm happy to take into PS), and the below is my final edit after completing colour work and toning, Dodge & Burn etc.

I never like to go too far away from the original with head shots and very rarely do a side by side comparison with the original once I've finished my edit.

I am quite pleased to see that even after what seems like a fair bit of work it still appears to be fairly true to the original. How do you judge your portrait workflow and decide where to stop ?
Happy for any suggestions on how this shot could be improved if there is anything that bugs you about it if it was your photo.
Thanks,

Andy.

Nice shots. I actually like the color of the raw version over the final one. IMHO

Thanks for your comment Craig. I always find Red a tricky colour to get right in portraits as it can dominate and distract so easily. I knocked the reds down a little in sat & luminance which may have affected the skin a little. That's my point though about a before and after comparison..it's not unless you stick them side by side that you really pick out the differences.

looks great
