I really like the second shot!! Not as fond of the B&W. The B&W shot has too much white for my taste. I would have tried it a stop lower, as Camden said. Also, his left eye, looks more black - there's isn't any detail that I can see - where his right eye has detail. You may be able to brighten, or bring out the white in his left eye.
