First Snow in Yellowstone with a Pronghorn and First Red Fox Encounter

Hey guys, I picked out two of my best shots from my trip to Montana this year. I feel like they are some of my best, but I feel like I have plateaued and am looking for areas I can improve in. I'd love to know your thoughts on them!

I found this Pronghorn while visiting Yellowstone (not a very hard thing to do), and luckily it it had just started to snow lightly! I was taking pictures for about 30 minutes before a couple other people came up and started being very loud and invasive. I left because the Pronghorn was looking a bit stressed about the new comers. One of my biggest frustrations with wildlife photography is people who have no regard for the animals wellbeing if it's in the name of a cool shot.

I found this Red Fox while wandering around a forest in Big Sky, Montana. It was my first fox encounter and it had no fear of me at all. In fact, it was very curious and would just stop to look at me sometimes. It even was comfortable enough to curl up and take a nap. One of the best experience I've had shooting wildlife, having shared a mutual interaction between a wild animal. That's what it's all about!

I really like the clean background, which shows the falling snow nicely. The Pronghorn is striking an interesting, alert pose, which is also really nice.

That's a particularly good Pronghorn buck, especially considering that you found him in Yellowstone, which is known for it's sub-par horn size. I'd say he goes a full 15 inches, with good prongs, to boot!

I like the fox

I like to imagine the tilt of the Pronghorn's head is the precursor to catching snowflakes on his tongue. What a fine portrait of Yellowstone.
