Female Rufus. I use to believe that photos should be just what the camera captured. Then I joined this group. LOL I used the paint brush technique demonstrated in a FS dodge and burn tutorial. First question I ask myself now is "what am i after" .

It's what's fascinating and is what draws me to the field of photography. We each have our own tastes, eyes, and visions; along with how far we are willing to manipulate an image after it leaves the camera. There is no write or wrong answer of course; there are 'rules' but they are broken all the time; there are guidelines, but they too are also broken all the time. In the end we are all seeking our own voice from a melting-pot of voices and techniques; just as those that came before us.

I know I'm slightly off topic, but your post triggered this train of thought. :)

I am looking at upgrading my post production software. I have been using Photoshop 6 on my laptop. The results are encouraging me to broaden my horizons.

I hear yeah... I'm still on CS3 myself, the struggle is real. I may just have to take the jump and pay the $10 a month for PS/LR. Im also thinking about a drawing tablet with screen.

I'm so annoyed with Adobe's extortion plan and subscription PS. I feel lucky to have got LR6 and PS Elements 15 before the buggers changed tactics.

Great catch of the wings, William. And... yep, my philosophy is similar to Joe's... and yours. I edit to what pleases my eye. You won't see any pink elephants in my stuff, but I like my colors. :)

Thanks
