Met this colourful bird while on recent birding trip to Himalayan foothills. It was perched on a decaying wooden log. While I waited for a suitable composition , it turned its head to the right offering a good pose. I clicked it then.

Composition-wise... for me, the branch on the left side distracts from the bird. Maybe try removing the branch in PS? Or a tighter crop around the bird?
You are very correct. Tried doing it but then it becomes too tight.
I had same situation. Removed offending twig in PS. Another time I just blurred and burned.
Will try removing the branch framing it as a vertical one. I am PS illiterate . Use only DPP. Will post again and seek your opinion. Thanks.
