Nice shot, Bodkin's Best Photography. is this a US black bear? didn't realize they also catch fish.

Canadian black bear. And keep in mind that bears are omnivorous. They'll eat whatever they can get their hands on!

ohk, thanks, Bodkin's Best Photography. I didn't realize there were black bears are in Canada. Thought they were only around the Rockies and south of US.

Oh, my no! You were extremely mistaken. There is an enormous Black Bear population throughout Canada, all the way from the Pacific coast of Canada to the Atlantic coast of Canada. Also, most of the Black Bears in the U.S. are NOT in the Rocky Mountain region. Throughout the U.S., there are a LOT of Black Bears in the northern tier states, and relatively few Black Bears in the southern parts of the U.S. They are primarily a northern species, that can also survive in some of the southern areas.
