I quite like how the wind is ruffling its feathers. I'm quite new to photographing wildlife. Feedback would be awesome. The image was taken with a Panasonic G9 with a Panasonic 100-400mm lens.
I concur with what Lukasz said - I like the tighter framing in the first image, but like the color of the sky and the pose of the Raven better in the 2nd image.
The pose of the bird is really rather splendid in that 2nd image - what a great look!
The perch it is on is kind of a shame - to have something so manmade and unnatural looking. But there was probably little you could have done about that. If you own that post and the ground it is on, then you could affix a natural, beautiful perch to the top of it, so that the next time a Raven alights there, it will be on a perch that enhances the image instead of one that detracts from it.
The sky is really nice looking in the 2nd image, but looks a little "dirty" in the first one. It's like there is a slightly magenta color cast that gives it a bad look. Perhaps selecting the magenta color channel and completely de-saturating it would get rid of that slight magenta cast. Pure blue, with no hint of magenta whatsoever, and no hint of green, is usually best for skies.
I like composition of the first shot better, but second pose of the bird is more interesting.
