Out on the Golf Course on a very hot summer day I came across this Homing Pigeon (AKA: Rock Dove). He was pacing around all day so it gave me the opportunity to take this last image of his life.
I discovered later that he was intentionally run over by a golf cart and killed.
Research into the bands on both legs informed me as to which club the bird belonged to and I spoke with the "president" of the club. Apparently, when it gets very hot the birds can get lost, disoriented and distressed.
Two days later my wife overheard a person driving by in a golf cart telling someone else
"I thought it was going to move."
The bird is buried in our garden because we that sort of people.
