Love the barnacles on the tail. The three times I've been out trying those shots either the whales were too far away for the lens to reach, the catamaran was rocking or more commonly: both.
We also went out once at PWF in March. Other times out of Waianae and rough seas. Think Poseidon Adventure on a catamaran. Kids were "projectiling" at one point.
On another site I had an exchange with a guy who said he went to Maui every couple of years and while there would take 10 or more whalewatching cruises. He had some good photos, but obviously spent a lot of time and money getting them.
