These are a few photos taken from my backyard. I have the luxury of living in a city of almost a million people that still have araras, tucans, bem-te-vis, periquitos and many other beautiful birds.
Someday now I will spend an afternoon on top of my roof to try and capture better photos. But I would still like if you can rate and critique these images for me.
Thank you!
First one is the best, but maybe should be cropped tighter (no branch on the left).
2) seems like overexposed (the bird).
3,4,5,6) too busy and also generally birds against bright sky is not the best idea
7) looks like to slow shutter speed, but i like composition.
Thank you for taking your time!
I will reedit them later to see if I can get better looking images .
And the 7 is only 1/250s because I had, maybe, 2s to get the camera point and get the image. It was on full manual and I couldn't think fast enough to adjust shutter speed.
What do you think of these re-edits?
And the 2 araras were a couple in one picture,
Re-edits are much better, although only yellow bird is portfolio worthy. The one when the background is composed of leaves is now really good, but this twig is a bit distracting - we have live with it :). The one when the background is the sky, seems overexposed now. Not sure the crop is perfect and I would remove unnecessary twigs on the bottom in post.
After my daughters sleep tonight I will see what content aware can do about that twig.
And thank you for your time!
You have some really nice local subjects to shoot. I like the edits.
Thank you!
Wow you have some great birds in your area. I like the green parrot with the pods in its mouth before the re-edit. The white sky looks more realistic and its less distracting to me. My second favorite is your 1st blue macaw photo. Such a beautiful bird and great eye contact.
