A family of Barred owls

For the past two weeks, I watched this barred owl family very closely. I learned their daily routine and habits. I also learned how much they cared for their young.
I watched them hunting for food, feed their young, and teach him how to hunt. It was such a privilege to witness this family's life.

All great, but love the third shot (the flying one)!

Thanks! that's the owlet following his mom around during the hunt. It was tricky shot as it was getting quite dark but the light was still coming through the forrest. while I didn't completely freeze the movement, I managed to get a nice rim light around the bird.

My favorite is the first shot. You can feel the love they have for each other.

Thanks! That's also what I felt when watching these two. Their baby was still asleep when they were preening each other's feathers - also their way of showing affection.

You are a lucky guy!, good shots. I like the first one, although the third is the most complex technically speaking, and it also quite good.

Thanks a lot Juan! The third one was harder to shoot as the light was getting very low. That one's the owlet following his mom on the hunt.

Great set, especially like the emotion captured in the first image, well done!

Thanks! Yeah I felt the emotion when I shot this as well.

There are a family of them that live behind my house. Barred owls have amazing sounds as well. Great shots!!

Thanks! they do have amazing sounds!

A lovely series.

Thanks a lot!
