The idea started out as getting out of the house to go and photograph a few turtles I'd seen a couple of days earlier. I took my longest lens (400mm) and decided to work on a few techniques. This turned into a 4 day adventure getting over 200 images and doing research on these reptiles. I never knew much about the slider turtles but now I know a ton! Images edited in Lightroom. Camera: Canon 7D, 5D Mark IV and III.
Aperture: 5.6, 6.3, and 6.3
ISO: 400, 100, and 1000
Shutter Speed: 1/250, 1/250, and 1/400
Very nice, great colors. I know just how difficult of a subject they can be due to their 'busy' environments. Shooting turtles is addicting. :)
Lol! I thought it was just me but it became exciting and addicting. I can’t wait until the flowers bloom so I can get some really nice images.
Cool shots. I would crop the second one and take advantage of the
framing the out of grass gives it. it has a nice box around the turtle, but there is also another box to the left of it that feels empty to me.
Thanks for the feedback Troy!
