Humpback whales are amazing! I took my family to Maui this past February and booked a 3 hour whale watching tour on a raft. By far the best time for whale watching and best tour I've been on. During this watch we got to see bull whales fight for the right to mate and mother whales caring for their calfs. No breaches this time but there was plenty of action. You can imagine the looks I got onboard with 2 cameras and long lenses (70-200 and 400) but hey I can with a plan.

Yes! We had one come as close as 10 feet right behind us to catch a breath of fresh air. Caught everyone off guard and panicked the guide (lmbo)!
