It's not too long ago (at least for me) that macro shots like these would have been extraordinarily difficult and required equipment beyond the reach of ordinary photographers. When I tried it back in the day I used an extension bellows and had to get so close I scared the little guys into flight mode. Digital quality and newer lens designs incorporating macro capabilities make it easier to get good shots. Even I can occasionally get a good one. Maybe not as good as yours.
This is a Spotted Lanternfly caught in a spider's web outside my kitchen window..
Actually, the Spotted Lanternfly is a recent invasive species from China that has been expected to devastate certain regionally important agricultural sectors. There seem to be fewer than there were in the last few years (just my impression), so maybe they have been found to be delicious by birds or some other insect predator.
Nice of them to pose for you. :)

There is so much beauty in the insect world… we are so dull in comparison.
I would have been tempted to help the little guy or gal out of the web.
