Earlier this year I bought a kayak with the intention to take it out on the water with my camera, the 200-500mm lens on a tripod. It took me a few "dry"-trips until I mustered up the courage to bring the camera and lens for fear of tipping over and it all going to the bottom of the lake.
These images were from my first outing with the camera. It was on a small and calm lake in New Jersey in soft evening light. While I was really looking for birds to shoot, I came across these turtles instead, and thought, might as well start at the bottom with some of the slowest animals, lol.
I really love the low angle that shooting from the kayak allows.
The two pictures make for a nice set of complimentary frames but I find I am a little bit partial to your work on the solo turtle. Nice job.
