I love the picture Matt but would have liked to see the rest of his antlers. Knowing animals usually don't stay still and pose thta's prbably why.

Thanks, Geoff. I personally don’t mind the antlers being cut off but I absolutely understand why someone would. Yes, it was difficult to get many photos like this because most of the time he had his head in the grass eating. Also it was *extremely* foggy which severely limited the quality of photos. I took something like 400 photos that morning and kept like 8 or 9. If I wasn’t close enough to the animal(s) the fog made the photo very resolution limited (and made AF tracking difficult for the camera).

That said, I do have one or two where you can see the entirety of him. Maybe I’ll post one of those and see if people like it more.

Thanks Matt. Good to hear the story behind the picture.I think it is a beautiful portrait as it is. On occasions I have taken Kangaroos in fog and I actually like the foggy look. Wildlife is such a challenge at times. This shot reminds me of one of my favourite wedgetailed eagle shots in 2009. The bird flew past me very close and I did not have time to position him in the frame properly. I still like it but was disappointed I cut his wing tips off.Showing original then cropped then one where I got him in the frame but I don't like the composition as much.
