I am a real estate agent and I take my own pictures. It's a great excuse to ride off my hobby. However, I find more often than not I'm traveling with around $5,000 in equipment.
I'm curious what kind of policies do other professional photographers use out there to insure their equipment against breakage, theft, and the likes.
I have a liability insurance policy to cover personal injury, damage to property, equipment (breakage, theft on-site or from my office, etc), errors and omissions (potential copyright issues). It's a blanket policy that runs about 1300/year. I believe it's from Taylor & Taylor, specialists in working with photographers.
Get it. It will run you 100ish per month. I just lost my canon 70-200 2.8 on a beach shoot, hot swapping lenses, without an assistant. Put it down, in a rush. Bang, gone. $2600AUD.
