Issue with uploading images

Hi guys

I have already been in contact with the support here on Fstoppers, but it seems like they have a hard time figuring out what causing this issue.

When I create a new post in a group in the community section and then choose to upload an image to the post I get stuck. When I click the "Upload Images" button and select a photo the uploading animation just keeps on loading without completing the upload. The loading wheel just keeps on spinning and the geen "Creat Post" button disappears.

It's quite frustration when you would like to share some photos in the community area. At the moment I have to upload the photo to my portfolio and then use the link in the post and share the photo this way. But it sucks that I have to use a spot in my portfolio for this..

A month ago I didn't have any issues uploading in the community area, so I can't figure why this is happening. Maybe some of you could help me out or have you experienced the same issue?

I have of course tried to delete my browser cache, tried various browsers - Firefox, Edge, Safari, Internet Explore. Tried on another computer and another internet connection as well.

Cheers guys!
Have a nice weekend :-)

I would love to hear if other users are experiencing this issue as well. Does it only happen in new posts or anytime you try to reply to a thread? I've just uploaded a test image to my reply to see if it works on my laptop...I will say I have had some problems uploading super high res images to the server (more than 18 megapixels) but outside of that I can't figure out why you would be having this problem. Let's see what other users say and maybe we can pin point it down to a common thread.

I get the same thing every time whether I'm using my phone or my laptop or my desktop to upload them. Doesn't finish

So at least I'm not the only one having this issue :)

Do you mind emailing us the photo you are trying to upload to contactfstoppers@gmail.com and we will try to create a new post using that image from our side. That's the best way to determine if it is the photo, some bug in the coding, or something on your end.

Hi Patrick - I have just mailed you a photo, which you can use for testing. It's resized so it's below 2mb. I'm still not able to upload it.

Just tried a test from my phone and it uploaded and posted in less than 30 seconds. I'll try the desktop test tomorrow when I get into the office. Is this the exact image you were having trouble with? Can you not post the exact same image in a new post?

I tried to upload the exact same photo just before I e-mailed it to you and it looks like you can upload it without any issues. Really Strange.
I have tried with multiple photos, even photos below 1 mb.

I was wondering a bit. The two other guys who wrote in here that they have the same issue. Could you check when they created their account here on Fstoppers? Maybe it's only a couple of accounts which is not working and then I was just wondering if you could narrow it down.

I'm quite sure I would be able to upload if I created a new account. But I would prefer not to :)

I'm confused here, you weren't able to upload that image a few weeks ago but you can now...I don't think it has to do with the date you created your account. My guess is something weird is up with you ISP, the image itself, or something timing out on your end. This isn't a very common problem and it seems like it resolved itself if you were able to upload the image now after I tried it.

We are happy to trouble shoot errors users have but this seems like this error is outside of the Fstoppers website and is happening to 3 users out of 100k that I don't think we can do a whole lot more unless we get more info. Glad to know you can now post your images online and hopefully you won't have this issue pop up again.

Maybe I didn't write the message in a proper way. English is not my native language, so I might make some mistakes. I was supposed to write in my first phrase that I wasn't able to upload the image.

I'm not abe to upload the image that I e-mailed you and I'm not able to upload any other image. I have tried after you uploaded the image via your mobile. I have tried various images with different sizes. Most of them below 2 MB.

You mention ISP, this shouldn't have anything to do with my issue - I'm quite sure it's something on your side. I have access to 5 different ISP's here in Denmark and I'm working in/for the IT industry, so I know the basics how this should work :)

I have the current photo on my portfolio yes, but this upload is back from when I created my account and it was all new.

I'm not sure what else I can specify to help you investigate this issue :(

Well I just did the same test as you Patrick - I don't have any issues uploading photos when it's a reply to a post.
I tried to create a separete post with the same photo as this one, it didn't work. So I dont think it has anything with the resolution of my photos :)

I've been having this problem as well with new posts. I've tried with various size uploads but the upload doesn't complete.

How big is the file you are trying to upload? can you try with a smaller image and see if it still hangs?

The photo I have e-mailed Patrick is 1.9mb. So this shouldn't be a problem.
I have tried with other photos below 1mb without succes.
