As I am sure you all know, instagram is FILLED with thousands of spam accounts advertising to get you instagram famous or thousands of followers. I keep getting these bots to comment, like my photos, tag me, etc, and when I go to block them, it seems as though I lose followers or get less traffic to my posts. Is there any way anyone knows of to keep these annoying things away from your profile??

Just ignore them. They get deleted eventually.
They comment on practically every post I make though, so I try to delete and block them because I don't want the comments on every photo of mine
Have you tried waiting a few days to see if they get deleted when the spammer is deleted?
By the way, I use TrackGram to manage my IG. Makes it easier to track new followers.
I haven't ever tried that. How much does track gram cost? I don't think I could spend much on anything like that

I dont think i've ever had a spam comment on a photo... lots of spam followers but they fall away as they're deleted
I have had loads of spam comments or followers over the years. Like Prefers mentions they eventually get taken down from the network over time. Sometimes Instagram does a yearly purge and kills them off in thousands. I have heard of some programs that allow you to go through and delete any spam or malistion looking accounts you follow and that are following you.
Make sure to watch the hashtags you use as well. There are plenty of spamming programs that follow tags specifically and will target you that way. So keep an eye on those generic tags you use like #sunset or whatever you might use.
