Mirva - Natural Light Portrait

Hello everybody!

My first post here! I bought Lomography New Petzval 85mm F2.2 lens two days ago. I'm on a summer vacation and my wife is on her maternity leave, so we had some time today to go out and shoot. My wife did the modeling and one of our kids was assisting with the diffusor. Of course it was windy and there was a lot of wasps out (my wife has a small wasp fobia apparently). So it was lot's of running and screaming and little of shooting here and there.

Anyway, I managed to grab this photo. I quite like it. I told my wife to "take a super beautiful look" and managed to press the shutter button just before she bursted to laughter. The Bokeh Petzval 85mm renders at F2.2. is really interesting. Post was done with Capture One pro 9. CC more than welcome!

This looks really cool!

Not a fan of radial blur, but your model is absolutely beautiful and makes up for it. Nice job.

Lovely portrait . Maybe the radial blur was a little too much as there already was enough bokeh.

Thanks for comments you all! There's no added radial blur. All bokeh in this photo is straight from the Petzval 85mm lens at F2.2. Swirly Bokeh is what's the lens is known for.

Sorry mate - nearly the same thing to me as it kind of distracts, but that's just my opinion. I don't personally care for the effect, but I'm assuming that with your bokeh control ring you can limit the swirl? It does seem to provide a nice sharp image on your subject. Anyway, if you shoot the same model every time, it doesn't really matter what you do to the background. ;0)

Nice shot!
