Robert - great to see your work. Taking ordinary places/spaces, especially transit-oriented ones, and finding beauty in them is always refreshing to see. Keep shooting and experimenting!

If you aim your camera at some new buildings you might be able to get some good freelance work (if you're interested in that). Pay attention to what's being built, then search online to see who's building it, which architects designed it, etc. Shoot it, make it look great, and email it to the companies - if they like it they'll pay, and if not you'll be on their radar the next time they need images.

Thank you man! Pretty good idea ;) Will definitely try it :D

I found most of my repeat clients this way. Shoot their project as if you've been hired to shoot it (just the exterior). If you have a portfolio website get the shoot onto there looking its best, then send to the principal architect (find the email of the person in charge) or the marketing manager. Again, no guarantee that they will buy (license), but I've had great success with this method. They're happy that the work has already been done - they have the images they need to represent their company, and they only had to pay to get them - no scheduling, bidding, or other work for them to do. If they don't buy, you still have a great portfolio piece that represents the work you want to be doing (if of course you're interested in shooting buildings).

I shot this project one evening down the street from my home (then retouched and sent over) and I've been shooting for this architect ever since. Not the world's greatest shoot, but they're nice images of a project that this architect cares about and wants to look good with.

Best of luck!

Thank you :) I will try it in the next few weeks :)
Really nice images btw :)

This is pretty true, but I hadn't thought about it. I did a shoot of a new space in Tulsa. It's a new co-working space called 36Degrees North, and I got a membership there to get away from the house.

I ended up liking the space so much I did a shoot of it just because. The company ended up using the pictures as a "Tour" and the designers asked me for the pictures as well. I didn't think to sell them to them, but they liked the pictures enough to suggest they'd keep me in mind as "their guy in the area." Which was very flattering. http://www.andrewbrister.com/36-degrees-north

The other thing to think about is that it's not just the architect that would make use of those pictures. The contractor and subcontractors might want them as well. So, don't discount the builders, or the engineers.

Great images - these appeal to me very much! Always love taking pictures of transport links as you can always find something new.

Thank you Dexter! Appreciate it!

Dem tones tho… IG would eat it right up. 3rd shot ain't centered, get on that shit.

cool shots!

Gut gemacht, weiter so.. ;)

The one point perspective is very effective! And I like the contrast of the warm and cool tones. A very nice theme. Keep up the good work.
