AlienBees 1800 with Beauty Dish and Grid

My Alien Bees light has been out of commission for a couple of years but I have recently rectified that so I couldn't wait to bust it out and have a play.

The light and dish were positioned directly in front of the subject (my son, Jamie) and I was shooting from directly beneath the dish and beside the stand. My camera was on a tripod, I was firing remotely and lens was all but touching both.

While my lighting techniques certainly need a lot of work, I'm finding that a lot of my influence is being drawn from the style of Dan Winters lately and I was hoping to kind of emulate his processing.

I love the overall tone of this image Matt. It has so much dramatic impact and the colour grading is haunting. Great image my friend!

Important to see the eyes and lighting gives you this. Like the textures and toning
