After a good while without a camera I have just bought myself a new one , but would like to have my older pics criticized before i get back on photography .

I think you have a really strong portfolio. I especially like the second image(where the guy is jumping into the water). I think the weakest image is the 5th (girl seated on a rock). It's not a bad image, but it seems very heavy in color and her face is kind of lost in it all. Definitely keep shooting!
thanks for your feedback!
The blue door isn't quite vertical. Personally, I find that quite distracting. I would do some sort of skew to make both the door and the window lines to be parallel and vertical. Oltherwise, I like this image the best.
I tend to agree with the skew vertical. Otherwise a nice strong image.

Hi...
Image 1 does it for me. There are so many sub plots contained in the image. I like the implied diagonal between the beggar(?) and the people in the shop. This leads to the juxtaposition of the haves vs the have nots and the obvious gulf between the lifestyles.
Keep on shooting.
Regatds,
Mike
what I've learned over the time is that the camera itself is the least important element in making impactful pictures. It's finding out what you can do with it, what sparks your interest and what makes you put the time and effort into it to repeat again and again and again. The first two pictures show that you are capable of taking pictures which tell a story, which use deliberate perspective to put the viewer into the equation. The other pictures will help you to find out what works and what not. They are just a step in your journey not the end.
There are obviously things you could learn more about BESIDES an new camera which is Posing, Artificial Light and Attention to detail. But again you shouldn't need us to get back on photography. Find a subject which resonates with you and try to improve it over time. Remove elements which detract the viewer from the story you want to tell and emphasize elements which help improving the story...
Cheers
Michael
