Thoughts for improvement

Hi all,

Would love to get some feedback on improving this shot. Thank you in advance!

Love the shot! The only things that I would say (and this is only my opinion so don't take it for granted) if it were me I would have probably used a reflector on the shoot. The brunette model to me could do with a little extra light on her, (although this is being really critical and not a must) but the main reason I would have used a reflector is to get a little more brightness back in the eyes, to me they seem a little dull and with no catchlight, which I don't know about other photographers here but for me without it generally makes the eyes seem a little dead. The models you have are very good.

While these things are ideally captured with lighting in camera, they could easily be done in post. I would brighten up the eyes (maybe add a little sharpening ...I tend to use a high pass filter on soft light blend mode masked off to just the iris) and then just a subtle adding of contrast and brightening followed by paitning in a subtle catchlight. - a lot of people over process eyes and it looks awful but a little goes a long way.

Hope this helps :)
All the best
Ben

Thank you so much. I'll try it out

Hey, I agree with Ben, in that the brunette model looks under lit and flat. Also, I don't get why the model on the left has no expression, while the right has a slight smile. They seem almost dark with their eye makeup and expressions, but have bright coloured makeup and light flowers and are in a light and fun setting. I think some more work can make it a great shot though, just not my taste personally.

Thanks for the post
