In the front left I have a studio lamp with a beautydish, under the studio lamp I have a reflector to soften the shadow on that side. Right back I have a studio lamp with an octabox.
Expression in a photo makes people look at a photo longer. You can strengthen this by giving the model an active posture, by adopting an active posture by supporting her elbow, she reduces the distance to the camera.
One way to reduce the distance in the photo even more is to play with the framing, with this photo I have left a large part of the top of her head away and I started framing just above the eyebrows. By this way of framing, you almost feel that you are on the lip of the model.
Use of a shallow DoF (e.g. f/1.8) is nice as it softens the skin on her nose, teeth and some of her fingers and everything behind her eyes which is crystal sharp. I trying to figure out how some of the fingers are in focus but not her teeth, yet her eyes are sharp, even shooting downward would have rendered the fingers soft focus.
Very Nice photo
